OKSANA VOLKOVA

Belarusian mezzo-soprano, she has sung more than twenty operatic roles. Recently, she debuted as Amneris (Aida) at the Dresden State Opera with Christian Thielemann and at the Israeli Opera Tel Aviv. She has performed Carmen (Metropolitan Opera, New York), Amneris (Aida, Salzburg State Theatre), Matryoshka (War and Peace, Bavarian State Opera), Lyubov (Mazeppa, concert version) at the Baden-Baden Festival and the Berlin Philharmonic with Kirill Petrenko, Lyubasha (The Tsar’s Bride), Lyubava (Sadko), Marina Mniszek (Boris Godunov, Bolshoi Theatre) and in Verdi’s Requiem with the Residentie Orchestra of The Hague. Her outstanding appearances include Carmen (NCPA Beijing, Lithuanian Opera, Bolshoi Theatre, Polish National Opera), Sonyetka (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Opéra Bastille), Princess Eboli (Don Carlo, Graz Opera), and Marina Mniszek (Boris Godunov, Zurich Opera). She garnered critical acclaim at the ΜΕΤ with the roles of Giulietta (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Maddalena (Rigoletto) and Olga (Eugene Onegin). She has collaborated with leading orchestras and conductors and has recorded extensively.
