A new programme launched by the GNO, with the support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), will offer 10,000 free tickets for performances to young individuals aged 17 to 22, large families, unemployed citizens, and seniors aged 65 and over.

The Greek National Opera is expanding its social policy by introducing a new programme titled GNO for All. As part of its shared vision with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) to enhance the GNO’s artistic outreach and further broaden its audience, the Greek National Opera will offer 10,000 free tickets for performances at the Stavros Niarchos Hall to individuals aged 17 to 22, seniors aged 65 and over, large families, and unemployed citizens. The programme is made possible by an exclusive grant from the SNF.

In recent years, the Greek National Opera has provided over 30,000 free tickets for dress rehearsals and performances to unemployed citizens and individuals with disabilities. Now, thanks to the renewed support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) with a two-year grant, the GNO is expanding its social policy through a new programme called GNO for All, which will provide 10,000 beneficiaries the chance to experience the arts of opera and ballet by attending performances at the Stavros Niarchos Hall for free during the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons. The programme is aimed at individuals 17 to 22, seniors aged 65 and over, large families, and unemployed citizens. Individuals in these categories can register for the programme starting 7 November 2024 at nationalopera.gr/lyrikigiaolous. The 10,000 free tickets will be made available through an electronic lottery drawing system that will ensure the fairness of the procedure.

By registering to the platform, those eligible to participate in the programme will have the chance to select their preferred performance or performances to attend. For each performance, a specific number of free seats will be available through the GNO for All programme in all seating zones of the Stavros Niarchos Hall. A special lottery drawing will be held for each production to be presented at the Stavros Niarchos Hall, and the winners will be notified accordingly. Each beneficiary of a free ticket will be able to invite one additional guest of their choice.

• 26/11 lottery drawing for the performances of Don Quixote
• 28/11 lottery drawing for the performances of La bohème
• 6/12 lottery drawing for the performances of La forza del destino
• 8/01 lottery drawing for the performances of Tchaikovsky
• 28/01 lottery drawing for the performances of Flora mirabilis
• 18/02 lottery drawing for the performances of Lucia di Lammermoor
• 26/03 lottery drawing for the performances of The Golden Age

Upon completing the platform registration process, each registered individual will automatically receive a free pass to watch three GNO performances online on GNO TV.
