Are you an employee, customer, supplier of the Greek National Opera (GNO) or are you otherwise associated with the Greek National Opera?
Did you notice any possible illegal action in the context of the operation of the GNO? The GNO implements a Whistleblowing Policy, through which you can inform the GNO of the incident you have become aware of. The GNO will consider your report in accordance with its Policy.
You can learn more about the GNO Policy by reading below.
If you would like to be informed about the full content of the Policy, please contact the Report Receiving and Monitoring Officer, Ms. Athanasia Dimakou at report@nationalopera.gr

It also refers to all third-party stakeholders related to the GNO:

  • Any action and/or omission that endangers the environment,

  • Any other violation of the law and/or regulations applicable to the GNO or its staff.

The above list is not exhaustive.

3. WHAT YOU CAN NOT REPORT

Matters relating to your terms of employment or cooperation with the GNO or workplace issues, such as minor conflicts with colleagues and managers, disciplinary actions and possible late payment of wages and benefits, are not covered by the policy.

Usually, these issues should be brought to the attention of your supervisor or the HR department for resolution. In cases where you feel uncomfortable addressing the issue through reporting to your supervisor or HR or if the issue remains unresolved, then and only then, we encourage you to use this reporting process.

4. HOW TO SUBMIT A COMPLAINT - INVESTIGATION PROCEDURE

The report may be submitted by any person falling within the scope of this Policy. The report may be submitted to the Report Receiving and Monitoring Officer (RRMO) designated by the GNO. In particular, the GNO has designated as RRMO:

Full name

Position in the GNO

Athanasia Dimakou

The report may be submitted in writing. A report can be anonymous. In cases of anonymous reporting, it may not be possible for GNO to ask questions and conduct an investigation. The GNO will examine the report on the basis of the information available to it in each case.

The report should be submitted by e-mail to: report@nationalopera.gr

The report can also be delivered in writing through a physical meeting between the reporting person and the RRMO.

It is underlined that oral reports will not be accepted.

Where the report directly or indirectly concerns the RRMO designated by the GNO, the report may be submitted directly to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will then decide at its discretion whether to follow the procedure set out below or to investigate the report itself.

4.1 More information about the procedure

To help us deal effectively with each report, we ask you to provide the fullest information, facts, figures and any other known details about the events you are reporting, including but not limited to:

If you submit a report by name, the RRMO will notify you within 7 days of receipt. The RRMO will keep you informed of the progress of the investigation of your report. She may also contact you to ask you for clarification on the case. In any case, the GNO will make every effort to complete the investigation of your report and inform you within 3 months of receiving it.

The GNO may impose disciplinary action based on your report, as provided for in its Policies.

It is noted that the person against whom the report is directed has all legal means of defense.

4.2 External references to the authorities

You always have the option of reporting to the National Transparency Authority instead of reporting to the GNO. We advise you in any case to report to the GNO first, so that we can investigate and resolve any issue promptly.

5. CONFIDENTIALITY, ANONYMITY & PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

The GNO will treat all reports under the Policy and any information communicated to it with the utmost confidentiality, except to the extent necessary to conduct a fair investigation. Only authorized members of the GNO will have access to your report. The GNO will always take all necessary steps to ensure that no person directly or indirectly affected by the report is involved in making decisions about the report.

Furthermore, personal data will always be processed in accordance with applicable legislation and GNO policies. For more information, you can read the full GNO Policy.

6. PROTECTION FROM RETALIATION

The GNO prohibits any form of retaliation against reporting persons. If you believe that you or someone else has been retaliated against after filing a report, please report it directly to the RRMO.
