French soprano, she is considered one of the finest interpreters of Mozart and the French repertoire. In 1999, she was voted Vocal Artist of the Year at the Victoires de la musique classique. She was also appointed Knight of the Legion of Honour and Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. She has stood out for her interpretation of roles in works by Mozart such as Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Vitellia (La clemenza di Tito), as well as in the major roles in lyrical tragedy (Iphigénie en Aulide, Iphigénie en Tauride, Alceste, Armide). She has performed numerous concerts and recitals in Paris, Dresden, Berlin, Beijing, Vienna, Prague, London, Tangle-wood, Stockholm, Moscow, Geneva and Edinburgh, whilst she appeared on the world’s foremost operatic stages, among them Opéra national de Paris, Opéra Comique in Paris, Royal Opera House (Covent Garden, London), Vienna State Opera, La Monnaie (Brussels), Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), Teatro Real (Madrid), La Scala (Milan) and Dutch National Opera. She has recorded extensively.
