Tenor, born in Catania, he is awarded prizes in international competitions such as the Riccardo Zandonai Competition and Francesco Maria Martini. Past engagements include L’elisir d’amore (London), Rigoletto (Savonlinna, London, Minorca, Turin, Bologna, Bari), La traviata (Milan, Venice, Madrid, Moscow, Berlin, Naples), Luisa Miller (Munich, Hamburg, Zurich, Glyndebourne Opera Festival), Lucia di Lammermoor (Bari, Oslo), La bohème (Houston, Sydney, Tokyo), Madama Butterfly (Stuttgart, Vienna), I due Foscari (Munich), Nabucco (Parma), Faust (Sydney), Roméo et Juliette (Bari), Turandot (Puccini Opera Festival, Lima, Berlin), Il trovatore (Berlin), Tosca (Tokyo). During the 2023/24 season, he performed in such productions as Aida (Berlin, Verona), Madama Butterfly (Palermo), Turandot (Florence, Macerata), Nabucco (Vienna) after having also performed in Rigoletto and Madama Butterfly. In 2022 Ivan sang to great acclaim the role of Faust at the Greek National Opera.
