Marcelo Puente

Argentinian tenor, he has performed in theatres around the world including the Royal Opera House (Covent Garden, London), Opéra national de Paris, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Stuttgart State Opera, La Scala (Milan), Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires), Sydney Opera (Australia), Teatro Real in Madrid, Hamburg State Opera, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie (Brussels), Dresden State Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Washington National Opera, Prague State Opera, Vancouver Opera, Greek National Opera and several others. Puente sprang to international attention in 2017 when he debuted at the Royal Opera House as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. He recently returned to this prestigious stage as Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca. Other debuts followed in rapid succession, including the roles of Don José (Carmen), Paolo (Francesca da Rimini), Calaf (Turandot), Pollione (Norma), Manrico (Il trovatore), Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana), the title roles in Don Carlo, Faust and Andrea Chénier. He has already performed the role of Don Alvaro at Zurich Opera, Dresden State Opera and Cologne Opera. With the GNO he has performed again, singing to great acclaim the title roles in Don Carlo (2019) and Andrea Chénier (2022).
