VIOLETTA LOUSTA

Greek soprano, she was born in Florina, Greece. She studied at the Würzburg University of Music, Germany, with Cheryl Studer. In 2023 she made her debut as Judith at the GNO. In 2019 she was chosen as Ariadne in R. Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos (Malta Opera). She has sung Lady Billows (Albert Herring), Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana), Second Norn / Gutrune (Götterdämmerung), Gerhilde (Die Walküre), Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Poussette (Manon), Second lady (Die Zauberflöte), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Tchang-Haitang (Zemlinsky’s Der Kreidekreis), Desdemona / Emilia (Otello), Mother (Hänsel und Gretel), Clotilde (Norma) and the Requiems by Mozart and Delius. She has worked with such conductors as Bosch, Kluttig, Christopoulos, Karytinos, Economou, Voudouris, Petrou. She has performed with / at the Greek National Opera, Thessaloniki Concert Hall and Thessaloniki State Orchestra (Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder and Maria Callas Gala), Olympia Theatre, Athens and Thessaloniki Municipality Orchestras, Orchestra of Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Athens Epidaurus Festival.
