Manolis Mavromatakis

He has continuously worked in theatre, film, television and radio since 1991 when he graduated from the Veaki Drama School, where he taught acting in 2010/11. He has collaborated with the most important Greek theatre stages and organisations as well as with many important Greek and international directors, musicians, poets and orchestras, in over 70 theatre and music performances. In 2007, he was awarded the Karolos Koun Prize for his performance in Daphnis and Chloe, taxidi anapsychis. He has directed three productions for the National Theatre of Greece and the Athens Epidaurus Festival. He has participated in over 70 film, television and radio productions, including the French and French-American productions Les Traducteurs (2018), On sourit pour la photo (2022), Salade grecque (2023) and The Carpenter's Son (2025). He has been awarded the Best Performance Award at the 45th Nashville International Film Festival (2014) and the 5th Urban International Film Festival in Tehran (2015) for The Enemy Within, Best Supporting Actor at the Thessaloniki Film Festival (2007) for Uranya and Best Actor at the 23rd Athens Film Festival (2017) for Cowboy and at the Drama Festival (2007) for Spinalonga. He was awarded a special distinction at the 17th Olympia Film Festival (2014).
