PHILIPPE FORGET

Conductor and composer. After an invitation by the Opéra de Lyon, he conducted Les Contes d’Hoffmann, La Damnation de Faust, L’Enfant et les sortilèges and operas by Copland, Respighi, Blacher and Glass. Since 2020, he has been artistically associated with the Opéra de Limoges. He is regularly invited by the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Lamoureux, as well as the orchestras of Hong Kong, Lorraine, Bretagne, Auvergne, Hudson Valley, São Paulo. He is active as composer and conductor at French May Festival (Hong Kong), Firenze Gamo Festival, Edinburgh and Ramsgate festivals, New Athenaeum (Glasgow), Beacon Theatre (Broadway), Brandeis University (New York), Théâtre du Châtelet, Radio-France, Studio Opéra Bastille and the Francofolies (La Rochelle). He is the Artistic Director of the French Festival Labeaume en Musique and the Musical Director of the Chœur d’Oratorio de Lyon, the Chamber Choir Les Voix en Aparté and the Alès Sinfonia. He has collaborated with Monica Bellucci, Jane Birkin, Iggy Pop and Oxmo Puccino. He is a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Republic. Recently, he conducted the GNO production of La traviata at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall (59th Dimitria Festival).
