EIRINI VIANELLI

Director and animator, she lives and works in Athens. She studied graphic design at Camberwell College of Arts (BA Honours) in London and Experimental Animation at California Institute of the Arts (MFA), as a scholarship holder of the Onassis Foundation. Her films have been screened at international film and animation festivals, winning major awards. The short animation Icebergs was awarded at the San Francisco International Film Festival entering the preliminary phase for the Oscars in 2019, while it was honoured by the 24th Sarajevo International Film Festival with a special mention by the jury. She has worked again with the Greek National Opera. Ιn 2018 she created the animation that served as the set for Lena Platonos’ opera The Emperor’s Nightingale which was presented at the Alternative Stage and the Stavros Niarchos Hall.
