VICKI MORTIMER

British designer, she studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, London. She has designed numerous productions for Katie Mitchell; costumes for Handel’s Orest (Dutch National Opera) and full designs for Benjamin’s Written on Skin (Aix-en-Provence Festival and ROH, London) and Lessons in Love and Violence (ROH, London), Nono’s Al gran sole carico d’amore (Berlin State Opera, Salzburg Festival), Feldman’s Neither (Berlin State Opera), After Dido and Joanna Lee’s The Way Back Home (ENO), St Matthew Passion (Glyndebourne) and MacMillan’s The Sacrifice, Jenůfa, Kát´a Kabanová and Jephtha (WNO). Her other opera designs include, for Nicholas Hytner, Così fan tutte (Glyndebourne) and for David McVicar, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Glyndebourne) and Wozzeck (Lyric Opera of Chicago). She has also worked for National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Court Theatre (London), as well as for Broadway. Her many awards include the 2016 International Opera Award.
