Yiannis Katranitsas

Born in Thessaloniki, he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (School of Visual and Applied Arts, New Media in Visual Arts Laboratory) and at the Group Dimitrelis (costume design). He works as a set designer for opera, theatre, and film productions, collaborating with organisations such as Greek National Opera, Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, National Theatre of Northern Greece, Athens Epidaurus Festival, Greek Art Theatre “Karolos Koun”, Thessaliko Theatre, Municipal and Regional Theatre of Roumeli, Onassis Stegi, Thessaloniki New Theatre, Horos Theatre Company, Theatrokinisi, Anthropos sti Thalassa, Parnassus Arts Productions (Austria). He participates as a set designer in productions of cultural events by organisations such as Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki, MOMus, Demetria Festival, War Museum of Thessaloniki, Folklife and Ethnological Museum of Macedonia-Thrace, Science Center and Technology Museum “Νoesis”, HELEXPO-Thessaloniki International Exhibition, City of Athens, Municipality of Kalamaria, Municipality of Ioannina. He also works as a visual artist and creator of video installations, experimental short films, and prints.
