Elita Kounadi

Born in Paris and grew up in Athens. She graduated from the Drama School of the National Theatre of Northern Greece in 1998. From an early age, she attended classical and contemporary dance classes and became involved in music. As an actress, she has worked with state and private theatres in productions by Greek and international directors as well as with the National Theatre of Greece. In 2014, she was selected as a fellow of the Institut français and the Cité internationale des arts for the original concept and research of MATAROA La Mémoire trouée, directed by Hélène Cinque and Ariane Mnouchkine, at the Théâtre du Soleil. As a singer, she has collaborated with Stamatis Kraounakis, Nikos Kypourgos, Stavros Xarchakos, Vasilis Papakonstantinou and many other musical groups. In 2016, she was the editor-in-chief of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation show The Secrets of Music and, in 2018, she shared with Nikos Kypourgos the curatorship and research for the performance The Secrets of Egnatia, which was presented at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus as part of the Athens Epidaurus Festival. As a member of the Kounadis Archive, she participates in the research and documentation of its collections. She studies history at the Université Paris Nanterre.
