Bertrand Cuiller

Multi-faceted French harpsichordist who divides his time between performing solo recitals, chamber music concerts and leading his ensemble, Le Caravansérail. Born into a family of musicians, he was awarded the third prize at the Bruges International Harpsichord Competition and the highest honours at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. He then worked with some of the finest musical ensembles, including Les Arts Florissants, Le Concert Spirituel, and Le Poème Harmonique early on in his career before deciding to pursue his own path by performing solo recitals and directing his ensemble. His discography reflects his eclectic repertoire, which includes English (William Byrd, John Bull, Orlando Gibbons, Peter Philipps), Italian (Scarlatti) and French (D’Anglebert, Couperin and Rameau) music as well as works by Johann Sebastian Bach, which he has recorded for labels such as ALPHA Classics, Mirare and harmonia mundi. Bertrand also performs chamber music, with violinist Sophie Gent and cellist Bruno Cocset, among others.
