Eftychia Veniota

Received her piano diploma with honours in 1991 (class of Domna Evnouhidou) and, in 1992, the British Diploma (LRSM) of the ABRSM. She continued her studies at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional d’Aubervilliers – La Courneuve (class of Isabelle Grandet), receiving the Premier Prix de Piano and Perfectionnement, and at the Conservatoire de Montreuil (class of Muriel Blaisse) receiving Premier Prix de Piano. She graduated with honours from the Soloist Department of the Hochschüle für Musik Köln (class of Ulla Graf) and the Konzert Examen postgraduate course of the Robert Schumann Hochschüle Düsseldorf (class of Roberto Szidon). She also studied with Lev Vlassenko, Duo Ganevi, Martino Tirimo, Janis Vakarelis and Pierre Pontier. She was awarded prizes in Greek piano competitions. She has given recitals and chamber music concerts in various European countries and collaborated with some of the greatest classical saxophonists of our time such as Claude Delangle, Georges Porte, Christophe Bois, Nicolas Arsenijevic, Antonio García Jorge, etc. She focuses on contemporary improvisation, mainly for live scoring of theatre and film performances. She is a member of the Hermes Duo with saxophonist Georgios Lygeridis and a founding member of Piandaemonium. She has recorded for the album Amphipolis by Paris Paraschopoulos. She is a Collaborative Piano Professor at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. Together with Georgios Lygeridis she organises the Olympic Sax Festival.
