Marilena Striftobola

Soprano, born in Athens. She began her studies with the soprano Martha Arapis. She received a diploma in vocal performance with honours, first prize and an excellence award for outstanding performance and holds a degree in music theory. She has participated in the productions of GNO Beware! The Prince is Messy (N. Kypourgos), The Magic Flute (W.A. Mozart) as Papagena, The Murderess (G. Koumendakis) as Delcharo and Krinio, The Emperor's Nightingale (L. Platonos) as Nightingale, Le nozze di Figaro (W. A. Mozart) as Barbarina, La sonnambula (V. Bellini) as Lisa, Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss) as Adele, 7 Deaths of Maria Callas as Violetta Valery and Falstaff (G. Verdi) as Nannetta. She recently made her debut at Göttingen International Handel Festival in Germany, where she received outstanding reviews. She has won awards in international competitions and has performed in major venues in Greece and abroad. In May 2018 she made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York. She has, also, performed religious works with the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, the Athens Municipal Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra.
