Ioanna-Vasiliki Koraki

Greek mezzo-soprano, she studied piano and monody (diploma with distinction, first prize and gold medal). She continued her studies at the Indiana University, from where she obtained an MA in music performance (graduating with honours and distinction). She has been honoured with the title of Laureate and has received award at the Klassicheskoe Nasledie competition (Moscow), Budapest-Miskolc International Opera Festival (Hungary), and Canetti International Music Festival (Hungary). She is a founding member of the UIACX Ensemble, which specialises in experimental art and the performance of contemporary and electronic music, under the composer Keith Moore. She has given concerts (oratorio, lied) in Greece, Italy, Hungary, Germany, Russia, Czech Republic, France, and USA. Her roles include Third Lady and Boy (Die Zauberflöte), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Olga (Eugene Onegin) and Bradamante (Alcina). She has also composed music for dance theatre and short documentaries. Since 2001, she has been a member of the Greek National Opera Chorus.
