The GNO will present 30 fully accessible performances during the 2024/25 season at the Stavros Niarchos Hall and the Alternative Stage

Aiming to provide inclusive audiovisual experiences for all audiences, the Greek National Opera will present 30 fully accessible performances at the Stavros Niarchos Hall and the Alternative Stage during the 2024/25 season, as part of a total of 15 productions.

The introduction of equal language and sensory access services this year marks one more decisive step towards the gradual establishment of full accessibility in all GNO productions.

In the selected performances there will be designated seats for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and use Greek Sign Language, places for those who rely on captions (CAPS) covering the entire audio channel, and seats for individuals who are blind or have limited access to the visual channel of communication and will be able to use the audio description (AD) service. Guide dogs for the visually impaired will also be permitted. Full accessibility services are provided in collaboration with ATLAS E.P.

This initiative is implemented as part of the “Greece 2.0” – National Recovery and Resilience Plan with funds from the European Union – NextGeneration EU.
