Alternative Stage founding donor
The Manos Hadjidakis Cycle of the Greek National Opera continues at the GNO Alternative Stage with the presentation of the works 15 Vespers & Mythology by the great Greek composer. In the 15 Vespers (1964), Manos Hadjidakis remakes fifteen of his popular songs and orchestral themes for a small set of instruments. Mythology (1966) is one of the most important song cycles by Manos Hadjidakis. Innovative back then and still fresh today, he bears the stamp of one of the most efficient and creative collaborations of a composer – songwriter, as in the case of the poet Nikos Gatsos.
