Discovering Fairy Queen

Taking the idea of recycling musical materials as a starting point, the work- shop seeks to create a new version of Henry Purcell’s The Fairy Queen. The aim is to create an original tale, whose music will come from crowd-composition and the creativity of participants. Who was the fairy queen? Where did she live and what did she wear? Participants will be transformed into set and costume designers, experimenting with different materials and learning how to translate a work of opera into costumes and props. However, that is not all they do. They will also collaborate with the music workshop and reinvent the costumes and sets of this new version of The Fairy Queen.

Experiencing Z

Participants will observe and be inspired by the realism and human geogra- phy of cities between 1963 and 2018 (squares, roads, public buildings, public transport, etc.) and cultivate and develop their narrative and visual skills, as they devise their own original tale. The photos will enrich and add to the narrative which will emerge by blending their personal experiences of and thoughts about Vassilis Vassilikos' work Z and other literary tales.
