ANNOUNCEMENT OF AUDITION FOR GREEK NATIONAL OPERA BALLET DANCERS

The Greek National Opera announces an audition to recruit Ballet Dancers (Principals, Soloists and members of the Corps de Ballet).

Interested parties who wish to submit an application for participation in the audition are obliged to send the following supporting documents by 14:00 hours on Friday 13 January 2023 to the email address  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.:

a) the application form completed and signed

b) a curriculum vitae

c) a photograph

d) a video with a classic variation

e) a declaration of consent filled out and signed

 Interested parties can obtain the application form and consent form from the G.N.O’s official website: https://www.nationalopera.gr/en/news-features   

The consent form must be filled out by interested parties after they have read the G.N.O’s CV Policy.

Dancers born between 1 January 1991 and 31 December 2003 are entitled to submit an application to participate in the audition.

Note that applications from which any of the above supporting documents are missing will not be accepted.

The G.N.O undertakes to ensure that the personal data of applicants is kept strictly confidential. Only the persons within the G.N.O who are authorised to do so and no third party shall have access to applications.

After all supporting documents are evaluated by the G.N.O's Ballet Director and an assistant choreographer at the G.N.O's Corps de Ballet, all candidates who submitted an application will be notified by email about whether or not they will participate in the audition no later than Tuesday 17 January 2023. All participants invited to participate in the audition will receive an email with an invitation to participate in the audition and the audition schedule.

The audition will take place before a 5-member committee on Sunday 12 and Monday 13 February 2023 at the Greek National Opera's studios at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (364 Syngrou Ave., GR-17674).

Due to the conditions prevailing because of the coronavirus pandemic, the G.N.O will ensure that the audition is conducted safely based on the applicable health protocols and government recommendations.

The auditions may be recorded to video for archival purposes.

The G.N.O shall be entitled, by mutual agreement with the dancers who successfully auditioned, to employ them at a grade different from the one for which they registered.

The contracts of successful dancers shall be fixed-term employment contracts lasting 1 year.

In order to be recruited by the G.N.O successful dancers are required to submit all necessary documents and information (Tax Reg. No., social security number, work permit in the case of foreigners, etc.) and register for tax in Greece.

The decision to recruit successful dancers will be announced until Friday 17 February 2023 on the G.N.O's official website.
