The Modern Housemaid by Nikos Hadziapostolou (1879-1941) launched the composer’s successful career in the world of Greek operetta. The “comical scenes of indescribable absurdity”, as one critic at the time described the operetta, succeeded in becoming one of the most popular pieces on the repertory.
