FREDDIE DE TOMMASO

British-Italian tenor, admired for his incredible voice, he is hailed as one of the most promising and talented soloists in opera today and has won prizes at several prestigious competitions, including the Tenor Viñas Competition. He shot to fame in December 2021 when he jumped in as Mario Cavaradossi in the Royal Opera House’s production of Tosca, thus becoming at the age of 28 the youngest ever tenor to perform the role on the iconic stage and the first Brit since 1963. He has performed at the most famous opera houses worldwide such as Gran Teatre del Liceu, La Scala in Milan, Vienna State Opera, Berlin State Opera, Teatro Regio di Parma, Arena di Verona, Bolshoi Theatre, Royal Opera House (Covent Garden, London). He has sung numerous leading roles including Pollione (Norma), Rodolfo (La bohème), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Don José (Carmen), Alfredo (La traviata), Cassio (Otello), under the baton of leading conductors such as Paolo Arrivabeni, Renato Balsadonna, Antonio Pappano. This is the first time he performs with the Greek National Opera.
