VINICIO CHELI

Born in Italy, he studied lighting design at the Florence Fine Arts Academy. He has worked for Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Piccolo Teatro, Milan, and Rossini Opera Festival, Pesaro. His credits include La clemenza di Tito and Idomeneo (Salzburg Festival), Guillaume Tell (Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Paris), Fidelio (Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris), Turandot (Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona), Rossini’s Otello (Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Brussels), Aida and Don Giovanni (Teatro de la Maestranza, Seville), Swan Lake (Opéra Bastille, Paris), Lucrezia Borgia and La forza del destino (La Scala, Milan), Madama Butterfly (Teatro Real, Madrid), Lucia di Lammermoor (The Metropolitan Opera, New York), Thaïs (Athens Concert Hall), Faust (Théâtre du Capitole, Toulouse), Tosca (Beijing Opera), Zanella’s Medea’s Choice (Festival of the Aegean, Syros island). He has lit numerous productions for the GNO (Madama Butterfly, Tosca, Faust, La traviata, Romeo and Juliet, The Murderess, etc). He teaches at the New Milan Fine Arts Academy and at the Teatro alla Scala Academy.
