Lina Zachari

Born in 1999 in Heraklion, Crete. She holds a diploma in piano and music theory with studies at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, Boston University and New England Conservatory. She studied composition at the Athens Conservatoire (class of Periklis Koukos) where she graduated with a diploma in composition with honours – first prize and distinction in memory of Dimitris Dragatakis. In 2023 she won the first prize in the international Bach and Beethoven competitions with her orchestral work Libyan Sea. She has collaborated with institutions such as GNO Alternative Stage, Centre for Contemporary Music Research, Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece, Drama School of the Athens Conservatoire, Chania Chamber Music Festival, Friends of Music Society, Festival of Crete, CHÓRES female choral ensemble, Heraklion Piano Festival, Third Programme of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, etc. She studies orchestral conducting with Lukas Karytinos. She is a founding member of the music theatre group Arte Libera, aiming to produce original music and theatre events with contemporary aesthetics and far from all kinds of dogmatism.
