Apostolos Konstantakis

Born in Rhodes, 23-year-old Apostolos Angelos Konstantakis is an award-winning pianist in Greece, Europe and the USA. His awards include 1st prize at the 5th Panhellenic Piano Competition of the Thessaloniki Piano Festival as well as prizes in international competitions. In 2023, he was named winner of the Bowling Green State University (USA) Concerto Competition. This gave him the opportunity to collaborate with the BG Philharmonia Orchestra and perform Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 2 under the baton of Dr Emily Freeman Brown. He performed the same concerto with the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra at the Athens Conservatoire, conducted by Pavlos Sergiou. In addition, Konstantakis has given concerts in venues such as Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, in Xanthi, Corfu, Florina and cities in the USA. He has been invited to music festivals such as Rhodes International Piano Forum, Rhodes Art International Music Festival and Symi Festival. He has attended piano seminars with Hideyo Harada, Claudio Curro Dossi and Solungga Liu, as well as piano accompaniment seminars with Andreas Reibenspies. In 2023, he received a tuition scholarship and the Patricia Smith Scholarship from Bowling Green State University, where he is currently a graduate student in piano performance with Dr Solungga Liu. He began piano lessons at the age of five and graduated from the Dodecanese Art School of Music with a piano diploma with honours and 1st prize. He holds a degree in piano performance and interpretation from the Ionian University (class of Lambis Vassiliadis).
